Mais la ville avait elle aussi souhaité marquer le coup. En l’honneur de ces couples, une grande cérémonie a donc été organisée à la salle des fêtes. Et les choses n’ont pas été faites à moitié. Avant la grande photo souvenir et la remise de diplôme et cadeaux, tous les couples sont arrivés en voiture de collection. Tels de véritables chefs d’Etat, c’est de Traction, immense voiture américaine rouge, DS ou 104 comme certains avaient d’ailleurs le jour de leur mariage il y a 50, 60, 65 ou 70 ans, qu’ils sont descendus et ont été accueillis par le maire. Puis c’est aux bras d’élus et sous les applaudissement de la foule, qu’ils ont franchi le tapis rouge qui avait été déplié pour eux à la salle des fêtes.
